Listening to the whispers…

Posted on April 3, 2023April 3, 2023 by Emily J Rooney

For more years that I care to count, I have been saying to people…’listen to the whispers and you wont get the screams’. I’ve learnt mostly the hard way that nipping things in the bud is a much more effective way to move through life and when you don’t and continue to ignore them, things can get bad. Like, really bad, to force you to face whatever it is.

All the wisdom in the world means nothing if you don’t actually apply it. So here, I sit having had a rather big scream…in the form of a physical challenge. A locked jaw to be precise, which has been stuck for nearly 2 years.

On one hand, it’s been a complete train wreck, debilitating my life. However on the other hand, being limited in how much I can verbally communicate has helped me uncover a powerful inner voice and new ears to hear it.

Gifts I have grown to truly love and appreciate.
